About the position

ASRC Federal (Agile Decision Sciences) is seeking a Network Engineer Senior II (Cloud Engineer Senior) for our contract located at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. This position is REMOTE with occasional travel to the customer site required. The role is crucial in supporting Cloud Engineering efforts under ASRC Federal's CECOM SETA Support within the PEO EIS MSP. The PEO EIS MSP ensures that the U.S. Army's cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and efficient. As a Network Engineer Senior II (Cloud Engineer Senior), you will be responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining cloud architectures, as well as supporting cloud-based solutions within designated Cloud Service Providers (CSP) such as AWS, MS Azure, IBM, and Oracle. This position plays a vital role in maintaining and advancing our IT infrastructure and software capabilities, ensuring seamless operations and robust support for CECOM personnel worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and maintain cloud architectures for the U.S. Army's cloud infrastructure.
  • Support cloud-based solutions within designated Cloud Service Providers (CSP) such as AWS, MS Azure, IBM, and Oracle.
  • Manage EC2 servers, AMIs, restores, and backups in AWS.
  • Configure and monitor AWS CloudWatch for resource metrics, logs, and alarms.
  • Utilize AWS Security Hub for centralized security findings and compliance checks.
  • Manage AWS storage services including S3, EBS, and EFS.
  • Implement AWS Detective for threat detection and investigation.
  • Automate backups and retention policies using AWS Backup.
  • Utilize AWS Systems Manager for patch management, automation, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or another Technical discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud software engineering, cloud security, cloud systems engineering, and cloud network engineering within government-designated Cloud Service Providers (CSP).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an AWS Cloud administrator.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud administration and AWS services.
  • Experience supporting and completing Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Cloud Access Points (CAP).
  • Experience in developing automation for routine cloud activities, including cloud environment instantiation, application of DISA STIGs, software installation, software patching, software updates, backups, restores, and security scans.
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) deploying systems to a DoD Authorized Cloud Environment.
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) creating, maintaining, and sustaining Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions.
  • IAT I Certification and full Information Assurance (IA) certification in accordance with IAW AR 25-2 and DoD 8570.01M.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, Cisco Certified Network Professional Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect, Dell EMC Cloud Architect Specialist (EMCCA/EMCCAe), or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S citizen eligible for a Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of DoD security requirements and compliance (STIG/ACAS).
  • Knowledge of ERP SAP environments.
  • Understanding of AWS AppStream for application streaming and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps.
  • Experience working in an Agile Framework environment.
