About the position

The Senior Network Engineer position at American Systems requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and involves designing, implementing, and supporting complex network systems for government organizations. The role emphasizes collaboration with various teams to optimize network performance and security, while also providing technical support and guidance for network-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ISSO support for government classified networks and assess independent Local Area Networks (LAN).
  • Execute LAN collapse procedures and purchase authorized LAN equipment for USSF classified network expansion or upgrades.
  • Conduct on-site surveys for establishing new LAN locations and determine equipment requirements.
  • Collaborate with Network and Systems architects to design, implement, and optimize customer networks.
  • Investigate and resolve operational problems within network systems.
  • Plan and support network projects for installation, administration, and upgrades.
  • Create and implement network security measures, including access authentication and STIG implementation.
  • Design, configure, deploy, and maintain firewalls.
  • Assist Cyber Security Officers in collecting and reporting information during RMF A&A activities.
  • Conduct regular network performance tests and resolve escalated network support issues.
  • Research and analyze new network technologies and suggest upgrades for network improvement.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance and SAP eligibility, with willingness to obtain a CI Poly if required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise Infrastructure certification.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CND, SSCP).
  • 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering and Administration.
  • Experience in network design, implementation, deployment, and troubleshooting of Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper routers and switches.
  • Proficiency in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Experience in firewall and VTC configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
