About the position

As a Senior Network Engineer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in supporting the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) by providing installation and operational support for voice and data communications systems. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems while ensuring compliance with security protocols. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and lead network integration activities, making a significant impact on the Department of Defense's mission to enhance national security.

Responsibilities

  • Provide installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
  • Design, develop, implement, test, debug, and maintain communications systems.
  • Perform configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems.
  • Implement incident response procedures during network or host security breaches.
  • Review customer requirements and recommend changes to existing technical architecture.
  • Install, configure, and support local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other data communications systems.
  • Monitor network availability and perform necessary maintenance to support network operations.
  • Supervise other network support and client server specialists, providing leadership and mentorship.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and recommend their integration into existing networks.
  • Plan new configurations for network integration, ensuring optimal performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Required certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment Certification, Security+ or equivalent, CCNA to start and CCNP within 180 days of start date.
  • Experience in managing large scale, integrated projects and mitigating risks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications requirements and designs.
