As a Network Engineer Senior at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunity, particularly in supporting the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and involves providing installation and operational support for voice and data communications hardware and software systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining communications systems, ensuring that they meet the required standards and specifications. Your role will also include performing configurations of operating systems and security patches for both host and distributed systems, as well as implementing incident response procedures during network or host security breaches. In this position, you will review customer requirements and make recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture, ensuring compliance with prescribed customer, industry, and agency standards. You will oversee the installation, configuration, and support of the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet, and Internet, maintaining network hardware and software while monitoring network availability for all system users. Additionally, you may supervise other network support and client server specialists, providing leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level network engineers. Your responsibilities will also include performing complex network designs that encompass multiple technologies within a single network, evaluating new network technologies, and making recommendations for their integration into the existing network. You will plan new configurations for integration into the network, ensuring effective integration and optimal performance. Furthermore, you will develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation, and support of voice communications systems, translating business requirements into telecommunications requirements, designs, and orders. Given the INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the Agency network, this role is both challenging and rewarding, requiring a high level of expertise and commitment to excellence.
