This position involves providing system and software engineering support to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC), specifically within the IEW&S Directorate Sensors and Mission Division (SMED). The role is crucial for maintaining mission continuity and ensuring a world-class sustainment workforce focused on current and future Warfighter requirements. You will be responsible for delivering software solutions and services for present and future customers while maintaining Army field readiness through Post-Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS). The support encompasses various systems, including the Biometric Automated Toolset Army (BAT-A), Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) OGS SIPR, Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS), Guardrail Common Sensor (GRCS), Husky Mounted Detection System, Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3), Second Generation Forward Looking Infrared (SGF), and Small Tactical Radar Lightweight (STARLite). As a Network Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for network engineering functions, including conceptualization, design, implementation, and optimization. You will assess evolving user needs and translate those needs into network changes through reconfiguration, hardware and software acquisitions, installation, and testing. Your expertise in current and emerging network software and hardware technology and protocols will be essential in solving and managing engineering problems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system/software engineering support to U.S. Army CECOM SEC, IEW&S Directorate SMED.
  • Maintain mission continuity and ensure a world-class sustainment workforce focused on Warfighter requirements.
  • Deliver software solutions and services for current and future customers.
  • Maintain Army field readiness with Post-Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS).
  • Responsible for network engineering functions including conceptualization, design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Assess evolving user needs and translate those needs into network changes through reconfiguration, hardware and software acquisitions, installation, and testing.
  • Solve and manage engineering problems.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • 9+ years of related experience in network engineering.
  • Certifications for 8140 compliance: CCNA, IALD, GDSA, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSPEDIH.
  • Secret security clearance.
