About the position

The Senior Network Engineer at US Tech Solutions is responsible for implementing and maintaining a complex multi-vendor environment for local and wide area networks. This role requires a deep understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to determine standards for the implementation and configuration of software, hardware, and system capabilities. The Senior Network Engineer acts as a second resource for problem determination, ensuring that network changes are coordinated and implemented effectively, particularly in mission-critical functional areas. In this position, the engineer will perform all functions of a Network Engineer, including coordinating and implementing moderate to high-risk network changes independently. This involves working with switches, routers, and systems hardware while adhering to established designs and configurations. The engineer will also provide input into the development of documentation related to configuration and network changes, ensuring that all modifications are well-documented and understood by the team. The role requires the integration of various components supplied by multiple vendors into a unified network, resolving Tier 2 localized high-impact network problems, and escalating complex issues to vendors or Tier 3 support as necessary. The Senior Network Engineer will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the network infrastructure and develop an understanding of the inter-relationships between applications and their network impact. Additionally, this position involves mentoring other team members, acting as a technical project leader for medium to large technical projects, and participating in an on-call rotation to resolve complex help desk tickets and network problems. The engineer will also track and trend issues, driving resolution and ensuring adherence to change management processes.
