The role of a Senior Network Engineer is pivotal in ensuring that the network infrastructure is robust and capable of meeting the evolving demands of the Department of Defense (DoD). As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining networks that support National Security Systems (NSS). This involves collaborating with a team of engineers from various disciplines, including Systems, Security, Endpoint, and Software engineering, to understand the existing network architecture and enhance it to meet current and future requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in operating and securing the network during DoD events, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside (OCONUS). In this position, you will engage in hands-on work to resolve interoperability issues, incorporate advanced technologies, and ensure high availability of network services. You will leverage your skills in routing and switching, IP and network transport engineering, and data encryption solutions to modernize the network architecture. Additionally, you will be responsible for enabling secure data-in-transit (DIT) and data-at-rest (DAR) using Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC), which combines traditional networking with virtual networking. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies while contributing to national security efforts. As part of your responsibilities, you will also be expected to maintain a high system security posture, develop new skills to adapt to the system's design needs, and ensure that the network infrastructure is resilient and secure. This position not only requires technical expertise but also a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in network operations.
