About the position

The Senior Network Engineer role involves designing, developing, and implementing innovative network security solutions to enhance the security posture of the enterprise. This position focuses on the deployment of IT and cyber tools, particularly FireEye Infrastructure tools, and requires overseeing the development and implementation of network security solutions that provide deep observability into network traffic. The role includes managing a team, troubleshooting complex challenges, and researching new technologies to refine security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships quickly with other teams and communicate security complexities to various audiences, including senior management.
  • Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls, enhancing detection and vulnerability capabilities in large enterprises.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas, leveraging analytics to identify advanced threats.
  • Oversee the enterprise deployment of IT and cyber tools, focusing on FireEye Infrastructure tools.

Requirements

  • Experience with architecting and designing IP networks, including developing and documenting network topologies.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages.
  • Experience with designing and implementing DoD enclaves, including compute storage, networking, routing, switching, firewalls, and end-user devices.
  • Experience with IT and cyber tools, particularly FireEye Infrastructure tools such as MVX, NX, HX, PX, IA, AX, and IAS PCAP.
  • Knowledge of multi-domain architectures, including data center, WAN, and LAN in virtualized architectures.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • HS diploma or GED with 12+ years of experience, Associate's degree with 10+ years, Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in supporting IT projects and activities.
  • DoD IAT Level III Certification.
  • DoD CSSP-IS Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Linux OS administration and management.
  • Knowledge of Agile tools, such as the Atlassian Suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work without considerable direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating efforts and establishing customer relations.
