The role of a Senior Network Engineer is pivotal in ensuring that the Department of Defense (DoD) has a well-designed and secure network to support its critical missions. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting networks that meet the evolving needs of the DoD, utilizing your technical skills and careful planning to ensure the network's reliability and security. You will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), customers, and users to understand the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. This collaboration will guide you in the planning and execution of the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components. In this position, you will leverage your expertise in backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking to resolve interoperability issues across various platforms. Your role will also involve supporting the acquisition of hardware and troubleshooting multivendor network and security equipment, including but not limited to Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE, and VMware solutions. You will document complex network and security systems and procedures, ensuring that they are implemented and maintained effectively.
