About the position

As a Network Engineer at Booz Allen, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing network solutions for the Department of Defense. Your expertise will be essential in developing enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshooting complex network issues, and enhancing the security and reliability of mission-critical systems. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in network design, architecture, and system interoperability, who can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise-wide infrastructure design for the Department of Defense.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
• Analyze current working infrastructures to increase security, reliability, and availability.
• Guide a team in evolving and deploying new capabilities and technologies.
• Optimize client operations and modernization using knowledge of enterprise-level network protocols and equipment.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with network engineering and IT systems design for large enterprises or government agencies.
• 4+ years of experience leading teams in the design, build, and integration of IT solutions.
• Experience with routing protocols and topologies, including BGP, MPLS, VRF, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with conducting network discovery and documenting system requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with designing and implementing Cloud-native networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with firewall design and network security, including device hardening and intrusion detection systems.
• Knowledge of DoD IT and Cloud security policies, including STIGs and DoD Cloud SRG.
