About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Air Force Special Operations (AFSOC) Air Commando Training Support (ACTS) contract. This position is part of a dynamic and diverse team engaged in a recurring multi-year program. As a Network Engineer, you will work with a multifunctional team of experts who are leading the way in flight training system sustainment and development. In this fast-paced environment, you will leverage your education and experience, along with the resources of Lockheed Martin, to solve complex problems and contribute to a highly skilled Agile program. The primary function of this role will be to organize, install, and maintain discrete classified networks that support the AFSOC air crew training program. The successful candidate will coordinate with both internal and external customers as needed to meet contract objectives. Responsibilities will include the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network architecture, administration of network applications, and ensuring that network devices are maintained to optimize connectivity and throughput. This position requires a strong commitment to security and compliance, as it involves working with classified information and adhering to strict cybersecurity protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, install, and maintain discrete classified networks supporting the AFSOC air crew training program.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to meet contract objectives.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network architecture.
  • Administer network applications and ensure network devices are maintained for optimal connectivity and throughput.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with CISCO ASA Firewalls and ACLs.
  • Knowledge of IP network/subnet addressing and ability to maintain high-performing, fault-tolerant, and secure networks.
  • Strong background in network security as defined by DISA STIGs or similar Information Assurance (IA) requirements and cybersecurity controls.
  • Current/Active CompTIA Security+ Certification (DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification or higher).
  • Ability to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid OSI Layer 3 knowledge: VPNs, VRFs, and routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP.
  • Experience with network management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Works & Brocade Fabric OS.
  • Experience with various H.323 type technologies such as VOIP, VTC, Gatekeepers.
  • Experience in a distributed simulation or learning environment and capable of configuring and troubleshooting WAN connections.
  • Encryption device / COMSEC experience.
  • Current CCNA certification.
  • Creation of diagrams using Visio.
  • Virtualization.
