About the position

The Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, designing, building, maintaining, and supporting the Firm's global infrastructure solutions, focusing on Networking Infrastructure, Server & Storage, and Voice & Telecommunications. This role emphasizes lifecycle management of the Server & Storage portfolio, ensuring optimal technology experiences for lawyers, staff, and clients while managing risks. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional IT teams and a strategic approach to operational needs, aiming to deliver high-quality services.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the lifecycle management of the Firm's Server & Storage portfolio, ensuring stability, security, and scalability.
  • Designs the Firm's on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers and storage solutions.
  • Maintains ongoing data center operations and collaborates with third-party providers as needed.
  • Develops and maintains infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
  • Partners with Information Security and IT teams to establish standards for infrastructure solutions.
  • Monitors, diagnoses, and optimizes infrastructure performance and security.
  • Provides advanced technical support for on-premises and cloud-based environments.
  • Plans and supports system maintenance updates and patches on enterprise servers and systems.
  • Deploys and manages networking aspects of Microsoft and third-party applications.
  • Recommends and performs ongoing maintenance and support activities, including security audits and routine backups.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems across the infrastructure stack to ensure a high-quality user experience.
  • Supports application teams throughout project lifecycles as an infrastructure subject matter expert.
  • Conducts research on emerging infrastructure products and services.
  • Maintains policies, procedures, and training plans for system administration and appropriate use.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a large Law Firm or comparable professional services organization.
  • Experience managing the system lifecycle for global infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies (e.g., Azure, Citrix, VMware).
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Powershell).
  • Experience with on-premise backup solutions (e.g., Commvault).
  • Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and capabilities.
  • Experience with identity and access management technologies (e.g., Azure, Active Directory).
  • Experience with network and system administration, including operating system configuration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Appropriate technical certifications (e.g., MSCE).
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy and global compliance practices and laws (e.g., ITAR).

Benefits

  • Salary range of $98,000 - $138,500.
  • Hybrid workplace with a combination of onsite and remote work.
  • Core hours of 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
