About the position

The Network Engineer (Shipboard Operations) position is focused on managing and optimizing network infrastructure in complex, enterprise environments, particularly for shipboard operations. The role requires strong technical skills in routing, switching, and firewall configuration, with a preference for candidates experienced in Cisco and Fortinet technologies. The position involves minimal travel and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize network infrastructure for shipboard operations.
• Configure and maintain routing and switching equipment, primarily Cisco.
• Implement and manage firewall configurations, preferably Fortinet.
• Utilize SD-WAN technologies to optimize and compress traffic.
• Conduct network administration and configuration tasks.
• Troubleshoot network issues and provide solutions in real-time environments.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables.
• Maintain technical expertise in networking hardware and software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in complex, enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in Routing & Switching, preferably with Cisco.
• Experience with Firewall configuration, preferably Fortinet.
• Proficiency in Cisco ISE and SD-WAN technologies, with a preference for Silver Peak.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Mid-level networking certifications are strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience with enterprise networking hardware configuration and management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SDA Fabric, DNA, and ACI.
• Cisco CCNP Certification is highly preferred.
