About the position

The Network Engineer - SME will play a critical role in developing and supporting wireless and wired networks, ensuring the successful migration of these networks to a new facility. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including instructors, students, and management, to create and document network architectures and support cloud migration technologies. The candidate will also be responsible for network administration and maintenance, as well as participating in planning and documentation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a new wireless network at the new facility.
  • Support the current wireless network and two wired networks.
  • Prepare documentation for gaining approval of SSPs.
  • Migrate all three networks to a new facility.
  • Document Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) activities.
  • Work with cloud migration technologies, such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Administer computer networks and perform network architecture tasks.
  • Collaborate with vendors and coordinate network support.
  • Design and configure networks as needed.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Assist in short-term and long-term network planning.
  • Brief management on current state-of-the-art network architecture.

Requirements

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Experience in designing and deploying wireless networks.
  • Proficiency in installing applications on Windows systems (Servers and Desktops).
  • Experience with MECM and deployment task sequencing.
  • Knowledge of desktop and network hardware.
  • Experience in desktop support with MAC devices.
  • Familiarity with the systems and network accreditation process.
  • Experience with services such as Cisco Umbrella.
  • Proficiency in using Office products for network design documentation.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki.
  • Ability to architect, design, and configure Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and wireless LAN controllers.
  • Experience in architecting and configuring a Windows Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Ability to work closely with vendors to create a bill of materials.
  • Experience with cloud technology in AWS and Azure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing and managing a Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Desktop support experience for language learning software.
  • Ability to take customer requirements and architect a network solution utilizing data, voice, and video requirements.
