As a Network Engineer Senior, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. In this role, you will work as a member of a projects engineering team to design, implement, and manage network infrastructure and services in on-premise data centers and cloud environments. You will analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to complex problems, perform maintenance and upgrades of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Maintaining network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining system backup and recovery capability will be key responsibilities. You will coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network infrastructure. Additionally, you will lead projects related to the design and provisioning of network infrastructure and security components, evaluate new communications technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network, and maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Coaching and mentoring less-experienced professionals will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the team grows and develops under your guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure and services in on-premise data centers and cloud environments.
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems.
  • Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining system backup and recovery capability.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Requirements

  • BA/BS and 5+ years of experience or equivalent years of experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or ability to obtain within 9 months.
  • Proven work experience as a Sr Network Engineer.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience with network infrastructure documentation.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing technology environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VPLS, and MPLS.
  • Experience with multi-tenant network architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP routing protocols, including route manipulation, redistribution, and filtering.
  • Experience with multiple firewall vendors: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco.
  • Advanced knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as OSPF, MPLS, VRF, IPsec, GRE, and SSL.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting spine-leaf data center network architecture using VxLAN; Cisco ACI.
  • Cloud infrastructure deployment and support; AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM.
  • Experience with Terraform or Python automation for network infrastructure management.
  • Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
