About the position

The Network Engineer Telephony role at TEKsystems involves implementing and troubleshooting enterprise-wide voice technologies, including phone systems, voicemail applications, and unified communications. The position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communications hardware and voice circuits, as well as managing telecom initiatives and supporting peripheral systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise implementing and supporting various phone systems throughout RHS, specifically Avaya Aura solutions.
• Installs, implements, programs, modifies, and manages phone systems and related applications, ensuring documentation is updated.
• Assesses and analyzes customer issues, providing technical diagnosis and support for communications hardware and voice circuits.
• Trains and provides expertise to end users regarding telecommunications systems, responding to inquiries and repairing technical issues.

Requirements

• Knowledge of TCP/IP and related network services (DHCP, DNS, etc.), communications protocols, and standards.
• General understanding of Ethernet, SIP, H.323, digital, and analog service delivery.
• Knowledge of server virtualization and operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.).
• Experience supporting end users.
• Outstanding oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work within high-functioning teams and thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a Cisco communications environment.
• Advanced level of telecommunications skills, preferably in an Avaya environment.
