At GDIT, a Network Engineer Tier III provides operational leadership and oversight of transitioning solutions and changes to optimize service and implement the N&NC technical roadmap. This role is crucial in supporting the Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Services (NITES) program, which is directly aligned with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). NORAD is a bi-national organization responsible for aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning for North America. The NITES program delivers a full spectrum of enterprise IT services and management, implementing various Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives, including zero trust at every level. As a Network Engineer Tier III, you will be responsible for developing, engineering, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring enterprise networks. This includes managing operational changes to configurations of network devices, subnets, and IP address allocation for both Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN). You will perform patching and upgrades of network device operating systems and configurations, support testing of patches, upgrades, and configuration changes, and assist in the development of Network services Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge management articles. Additionally, you will maintain configurations on network devices, troubleshoot network issues, document resolutions, and support architects in the design, development, and testing of network changes.
