About The Position

As a Network Engineer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunity. Your work will involve connecting and enhancing the systems that matter most, ensuring that today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. You will be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the improvement of how agencies operate. This position requires a proactive approach to network and operational support, where you will troubleshoot network issues and failures, applying best practices and methodologies to quickly assess situations, find solutions, and implement changes to maintain network stability and functionality. In this role, you will provide technical analysis of operational issues and ensure that documentation and procedures are followed and updated during active events. You will stay current on emerging technologies and products, pursuing certifications and participating in industry events as appropriate. Collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential as you lead problem-solving efforts, evolve system roadmaps, and make critical decisions. Clear communication with regular updates and reports to the management team will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Your experience will include working with local government, service providers, and enterprise customers, particularly in large Data Center or Enterprise/campus designs, architecture, deployment, and configuration with both physical and virtual appliances. You will have a strong background in networking technologies such as STP, IPSEC/SSLVPN, Routing (VRF, XVLAN, OSPF, BGP), and Multi-Homed environments. Additionally, you will be involved in Datacenter Network services, including Security, Load Balancing, and DNS, at both the virtual and physical levels. Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper products is essential, as is the ability to document incidents and problems to support daily efforts. Strong analytical thinking, decision-making skills, and organizational abilities will be critical to your success in this role.
