About the position

The Network Engineer position focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN/WAN/Datacenter network solutions within large enterprise environments. The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus and/or Arista platforms, as well as expertise in IP routing protocols and DDoS mitigation strategies. This is a contract position based in Iselin, NJ, with a hybrid work model allowing for both onsite and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN/Datacenter network solutions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot IP routing protocols, focusing on security and DDoS mitigation.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Nexus and/or Arista network devices.
  • Create and update technical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
  • Participate in change control processes.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions in large enterprise environments.
  • 3+ years experience with BGP, OSPF, and static routing, with a focus on DDoS mitigation and ACL configuration.
  • 3+ years of hands-on network engineering experience or equivalent.
  • 3+ years experience configuring and managing Cisco Nexus and/or Arista switching and routing platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNA, CCNP/DP, or CCIE (Data Center) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or 3+ years of equivalent networking experience.
  • Skill in creating and updating technical design documentation.
  • Experience working in a Product/Agile environment using Jira.
  • Familiarity with change control processes, preferably using ServiceNow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio Professional.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and auditors.
  • Knowledge of YAML, Python, Ansible, and GitHub.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and solve complex problems in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to coordinate, document, and drive flawless project execution.
