About the position

The Network Engineer at TEKsystems is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the company's enterprise-grade network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol devices, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-class networks and possess some managerial and project management skills. The network environment includes a variety of devices from Cisco, Palo Alto, and Aruba, and WAN connectivity is facilitated through IPSec, MPLS, and/or Azure Infrastructure. In this position, the Network Engineer will manage a diverse network infrastructure that consists of Palo Alto, Cisco, Sonic, and Aruba devices. The role involves improving LAN, WAN, and WLAN architecture to ensure maximum performance, capacity, and scalability. The engineer will implement appropriate network management and monitoring systems to achieve zero downtime and will be responsible for installing and configuring firewalls, switches, wireless, and other networking devices. Automation of repetitive networking tasks and monitoring their effectiveness will also be a key responsibility. The Network Engineer will implement network security measures in accordance with business requirements and conduct network performance and integrity tests, generating reports as necessary. Additionally, the engineer will assist in developing and implementing network disaster recovery plans and will be expected to resolve escalated network-related support issues in a timely manner. Maintaining complete technical documentation and interacting with business partners to provide network engineering support are also essential aspects of this role. The ability to execute multiple projects while meeting hard deadlines is crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage network infrastructure consisting of Palo Alto, Cisco, Sonic, and Aruba devices

Requirements

  • Basic networking skills and experience in large networks
  • Experience in installing and programming Cisco routing and switching
  • Ability and experience installing Cisco and/or Aruba wireless networking equipment
  • Ability and experience programming Cisco and/or Aruba wireless networking equipment
  • Experience in wireless authentication platforms such as Cisco ISE and Aruba Clearpass is a plus but not mandatory
