About the position

As a Network Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will be involved in enhancing the world's greatest missile defense system. This role requires hands-on experience and knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies, along with expertise in multi-vendor routing and switching, specifically with Juniper and Cisco technologies. The successful candidate will also need to obtain a DoD 8570 Level II certification within two weeks of starting the position and may be required to travel to various locations to support deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop network solutions supporting large network deployments.
• Utilize virtualization technologies, including cloud-related solutions.
• Implement network automation using tools like Ansible.
• Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Work with firewalls, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and WAN optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of the OSI Model and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with network traffic analysis and diagnostic skills.
