Centuria is honored to have been awarded this distinction. This role will be supporting the U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) Headquarters (HQ) at USFF Norfolk, Virginia at a Government facility/site. As a member of their USFF Communications and Information Systems Division (N6) Support Team, you will significantly contribute to Navy Fleet Readiness and Homeland Security. The team is involved in information technology (IT) support tasks including but are not limited to Program Management support, Network Engineering support, Maritime Operations Center/Tactical Systems support, Video Teleconferencing and Audio/Visual support, Portal Management and Application Development support, Staff IT Business Process/IT Services support, Satellite Communications Planning support, Information Assurance (IA)/Certification and Accreditation support, Database Administration support, Communications Security/EKMS support, and general IT support, as well as maintenance, updating and enhancement of developed application/software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT engineering and technical services and support for a broad assortment of system engineering and support functions.
  • Provide direct support services for overall and complete operation and maintenance of the Headquarters SECRET, NATO, Coalition and UNCLASSIFIED networks and associated hardware and software.
  • Support network connectivity or related network issues for the command.
  • Assist with plans for the installation of network systems.
  • Monitor network activity and identify network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors.
  • Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network problems, escalating issues beyond capability as necessary.
  • Analyze facilities bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies, developing capacity planning models.
  • Assess network performance to ensure it meets the present and future needs of the command.
  • Use enterprise system monitoring and management tools such as Wireshark, Websense, Solar Winds and NMAP.
  • Utilize commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including firewalls, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ISE, TACACS+, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, ACS, VPN and NAC.
  • Install and rack servers and network equipment.
  • Perform cable (ethernet and fiberoptic) installation and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Defense Information Systems Agency published STIG requirements and implementation/compliance process.
  • Knowledge of CND compliance requirements for all managed networks and systems.
  • Working familiarity with Cisco IOS, EIGRP, BGP, GRE, IPS/IDS, TACACS+, ACS and OSPF, with demonstrated hands-on experience configuring Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Associate's degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science or other related field and 1 year of related experience, or AA/AS related field or Computer Network Administration Certification and 2 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 4 years of experience specifically related to the below qualification requirements.
  • CompTIA Sec+
  • CCNA: Candidates who do not currently possess the CCNA certification, but meet all other minimum requirements, may be considered for this position. If selected, the candidate will be required to obtain the required certification within twelve (12) month time period.
  • Must have an active secret clearance.
