About the position
The Network Engineer will be responsible for assessing, designing, implementing, and securing the company's network infrastructure. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure the network aligns with business objectives and supports operational needs. The engineer will also monitor performance, document configurations, and provide training to IT staff.
Responsibilities
- Assess the current network infrastructure and identify weaknesses and requirements.
- Design a network architecture that ensures scalability, reliability, and security.
- Oversee the implementation of the network design, ensuring proper installation and configuration of hardware and software.
- Ensure network security by checking firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Integrate new technologies and systems with the existing infrastructure as needed.
- Monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks using current tools.
- Document all network configurations, changes, and procedures, and provide training to IT staff.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and management to ensure the network meets company needs.
- Stay updated on networking technologies and plan for future upgrades and improvements.
- Provide support for network issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Cisco suite, switches, wireless, firewalls, etc.
- Some experience with network assessments.
