About the position

The Network Engineer position at GLOTECH, Inc. involves ensuring the stability and integrity of voice, data, and wireless network services for the corporate office of United Parks & Resorts in Orlando, Florida. The role includes administering the network infrastructure, participating in the installation and maintenance of network hardware and software, and troubleshooting network issues. This position is part of a talent pipeline for future full-time openings, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, documentation, and guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless and other hardware.
  • Configure and administer networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Collaborate with management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Evaluate and test data, voice, or video networking technologies to establish their potential use.
  • Analyze data, voice or video network documentation and assist in communicating to management regarding the current operational status of networks.
  • Provide consultation, support and guidance to IT Project teams and other departments.
  • Participate in discussions regarding project decisions and project direction at the executive level.
  • Recommend data, voice or video network investment decisions to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future network performance.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in data, voice, or video networks.
  • In-depth experience with Firepower 1120 series, 4100 series and Firepower Management Center.
  • In-depth experience with Cisco ISE.
  • In-depth experience with Wireless (802.11) troubleshooting and administration.
  • 2+ years supporting LANs, WANs, TCP/IP, and associated networking in an enterprise data center environment.
  • 2+ years in-depth working experience using routing protocols (i.e., EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP, etc.).
  • Previous experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco devices (i.e., Routers, Nexus switches, Catalyst Switches, Prime/DNA).
  • Previous experience configuring and troubleshooting Meraki devices.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNA or CCNP certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with Silver Peak/Aruba SD-WAN preferred.
  • 5+ or more years of experience in data, voice, or video networks.
  • 5+ years supporting LANs, WANs, TCP/IP, and associated networking in an enterprise data center environment.
  • 5+ years in-depth working experience using routing protocols (i.e., EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP, etc.).
