About the position

Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support a new contract at the Defense Information Systems Agency/Hosting and Compute Center (HACC). This role involves implementing and sustaining Hybrid Cloud Solutions Infrastructure in an enterprise computing environment, evaluating and integrating DoD applications, and analyzing infrastructure design to optimize solutions while meeting government security requirements. The position is primarily remote with occasional onsite meetings in the Washington D.C. area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing NIPRNet and SIPRNet network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Map existing network connections and perform device configuration reviews, ACL and firewall rule analysis, VLAN analysis, and route table analysis.
  • Create overarching site diagram packages with operational concept overview diagrams, system diagrams, and system interface diagrams.
  • Provide a detailed network redesign proposal focusing on Network Consolidation, Process Automation/Improvement, and Next-Gen Network Architecture.
  • Develop a comprehensive redesign of the existing infrastructure to improve scalability, compatibility, and overall network performance.
  • Assist with IPv6 deployment, cloud integration (Azure, AWS, Google, and Oracle), Zero-Trust, and Software Defined Networking.
  • Enhance cybersecurity measures including BGPSec and real-time threat detection.
  • Identify methods to consolidate network hardware to reduce the network footprint at each site.
  • Provide rack elevations and logical and physical network diagrams for recommended solutions.
  • Assist management in the operation of networks, cloud, and security systems.
  • Stay current with developments in network, cloud, security, and LAN technology.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for the LAN/WAN.
  • Design quality metric disciplines and analyze software/hardware problems for management.
  • Troubleshoot intra-system telecommunications and security issues.
  • Resolve hardware or cloud problems and maintain inventory of data center equipment.
  • Submit recommendations for supplies, equipment, and furniture, and schedule repairs or replacements.

Requirements

  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience (4+ years) may be substituted for a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.
