The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure of the organization. This includes a variety of network types such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and wireless networks. The role requires a proactive approach to monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the network systems. In addition to performance monitoring, the Network Engineer will configure and maintain network hardware and software, which includes routers, switches, firewalls, and various network management tools. Collaboration with IT team members is essential to develop and implement network solutions that align with the business needs of the organization. Security is a critical aspect of this role; therefore, the engineer will implement and manage security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard the network. Regular maintenance and upgrades of the network infrastructure are also part of the responsibilities, which include performing firmware updates and applying necessary patches. Documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures is crucial for reference and training purposes. The Network Engineer is expected to stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends to recommend improvements and innovations that can enhance the network's efficiency and security.
