About the position

ManTech is seeking a motivated and career-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in the DMV area, specifically in locations such as Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland. This position is integral to our mission of securing our nation and protecting national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the system-level design and configuration of network systems, ensuring that all hardware, operating systems, and other platform specifications meet project requirements while maintaining interoperability with existing customer networks. In this role, you will plan large-scale systems projects, conducting vendor comparisons and trade studies to determine the best solutions. You will perform a variety of systems engineering tasks that are broad in nature, focusing on major systems design, integration, and implementation. Troubleshooting unique or complex problems will be a key part of your responsibilities, and you will collaborate with other Network Engineer IIs to ensure project success. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT, engineering, or a related field, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. You will be expected to hold relevant certifications within six months of commencing work, demonstrating your expertise and dedication to the field. This role also requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, ensuring that you can work on sensitive projects that are critical to national security.

Responsibilities

  • Performs system-level design and configuration of network systems, including determination of hardware, operating system, and other platform specifications to meet project requirements while maintaining interoperability with existing customer networks.
  • Plans large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and trade and cost studies.
  • Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation.
  • Troubleshoots unique or complex problems and takes direction from more senior personnel.
  • Collaborates and works with other Network Engineer IIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT, Business, Engineering, Math, Science, or related field.
  • Two or more (2+) years of related experience.
  • Hold one of the following certifications within 6 months of commencing work on the Task Order: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
  • If a candidate does not have a degree at all, four (4) additional years of experience are required.
  • If a candidate holds an Associates degree rather than a Bachelors degree, two (2) additional years of experience are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as Comptia Network+, Cisco/Juniper, or AWS Advanced Networking.
