About the position

The Network Engineer at Meta is responsible for developing and deploying network automation systems and enhancing network performance for the production network. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams, optimizing tools for network security, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy network automation systems and network performance improvements for our production network.
• Build experience with Backbone, Data Center, and Network Infrastructure Engineering teams and their designs.
• Develop and optimize tools used to secure network infrastructure, ensure integrity of device management actions, and authorize device level network access.
• Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network sourced events.
• Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to service impacting events.
• Be an active participant in deep technical discussions.
• Develop and maintain security, reliability and efficiency within the network infrastructure.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 24 months of experience in computer networks, UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals, or similar.
• Experience coding in at least one language (e.g. Python and C++).
• Understanding of network design and management concepts.
• Hands-on operation and configuration of network devices.
• Proven network troubleshooting experience.
