About the position

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Network Engineer, located in ITASCA, Illinois. This role is in the industry of Information Technology and requires expertise in network engineering and related technologies. The Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing network hardware, ensuring the efficient functioning of network infrastructure, and managing network security measures. The position requires a strong understanding of various network protocols and hardware components, as well as experience with load balancing and secure identity management. The ideal candidate will also have experience in troubleshooting hardware issues and improving system performance through various methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage network hardware like Cisco routers and other technologies.
  • Ensure the efficient functioning of network infrastructure, focusing on Palo Alto and Cisco technologies.
  • Manage network security measures, including firewalls such as Palo Alto and Checkpoint.
  • Handle network protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and oversee hardware components like Cisco ASA.
  • Utilize F5 or A10 for load balancing and traffic management across networks.
  • Operate with Okta for secure identity management.
  • Use skills in AB Testing, Datacenter, and Deployments to improve system performance.
  • Work with AWS global accelerator and Direct Connect for a robust network connection.
  • Utilize Configuration Management to maintain and improve system security.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer components.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Network Engineer
  • Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Experience with Checkpoint
  • Proficient in Cisco ASA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco Routers
  • Expertise in Cisco Technologies
  • Experience in AB Testing
  • Familiarity with Computer Hardware
  • Proficient in Configuration Management
  • Experience in working with Datacenter
  • Familiarity with Deployments
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
