When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives. Under the direction of the Manager of Network Services, and within established hospital, clinic, and department policies and procedures, you will support network activities in a multi-vendor, multi-platform computer environment. This role is responsible for the daily technical support of the BILH computing networks, as well as the installation, maintenance, and tuning of network software and hardware. You will consult with the Manager of Network Services on specific matters requiring clarification, interpretation, or exception to standard policies and procedures. As part of your essential duties and responsibilities, you will participate in Change Management and Root Cause Analysis meetings as directed, and document all required activities in the BILH IT ticketing system. Your technical skills will be utilized to install, configure, and support various routers, switches, and wireless access points, as well as vendor management applications related to these devices. You will also be responsible for providing detailed network diagrams using Microsoft Visio, updating databases for circuit IDs, pictures, and IP addressing, and maintaining or updating network equipment images and configurations. In addition, you will prepare monthly reports for IT management on all relevant concerns, participate in the development of standards of practice, and assist in the development of disaster recovery practices for all network equipment device types. You may be called to work off hours, weekends, and holidays to provide technical support to the institution, and you will be required to carry a pager at all times. As a Network Engineer, you will respond to user complaints, maintain an inventory of necessary cables and parts, and provide administrative and technical support for DNS and DHCP services. You will also assist senior staff with network design activities and document disaster recovery practices for all network equipment device types.
