About the position

Infosys is seeking a skilled Network Engineer specializing in SDWAN. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with Network Architecture and Deployment, along with extensive work experience in network switching and routing. This position is critical for the design and deployment of SDWAN solutions, requiring a deep understanding of various networking technologies and protocols. The candidate will be responsible for independently completing discovery and customer requirements, coordinating with Sales Engineering to finalize the SDWAN design solution and configuration. Additionally, the role involves performing root cause analysis (RCA) for missed metrics and implementing improvement plans to enhance operational efficiency. The Network Engineer will also propose and drive operational automation initiatives aimed at optimizing the delivery cycle. Analyzing team KPIs, production/SLA, and overall efficiency will be part of the responsibilities, ensuring high-quality work output. The candidate will engage directly with customers, customer engineering teams, and third-party vendors to successfully design and deploy SDWAN solutions, addressing any change requests and troubleshooting as necessary. Regular review calls with management will be set up to discuss metrics, progress, and challenges faced during the deployment process. Quality assurance is paramount, and the engineer will ensure that all disconnect procedures are performed correctly to mitigate human error outages while maintaining cost optimization. The role also requires maintaining technical documentation for clients and participating in an on-call rotation for support outside of normal business hours. The candidate must be prepared to work in a 24x7 production support environment, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Independently complete discovery and customer requirements for SDWAN design solutions.
  • Coordinate with Sales Engineering to finalize SDWAN design solution/configuration.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for missed metrics and implement improvement plans.
  • Propose and drive operational automation initiatives to optimize delivery cycles.
  • Analyze team KPIs, production/SLA, overall efficiency, and quality of work.
  • Engage directly with customers and third-party vendors to design and deploy SDWAN solutions.
  • Set up and drive weekly/monthly review calls with management to discuss metrics and challenges.
  • Ensure quality assurance on all disconnect procedures to mitigate outages and optimize costs.
  • Maintain client technical documentation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for support outside of normal business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 2 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Working knowledge of SD WAN, Viptela Design, Configuration, and Activation.
  • Competent understanding of all layers of the OSI model, including private line services, Ethernet, MPLS, VPN, DIA, Voice, and Security.
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Intermediate/Advanced experience with configuring Customer Provided Equipment (CPE) routers and switches.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Routing Protocols and Hardware Platforms including BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, and IP Routing.
  • Excellent communication and client interaction skills, along with exceptional written and verbal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNP Certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience with Managed Services and Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) products, specifically Viptela.
  • Knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) equipment or solutions.
  • Experience in Network Implementation, Optimization, Change Management, and Implementation.
  • Hands-on experience in working in a Global Delivery Model with onsite/offshore resources.
