About the position

The Network Engineer position at V2X is a critical role within the Global Agile Integrated Transport (GAIT) program, which focuses on providing a robust MPLS network that connects various Army Regional Hub Nodes and other Department of Defense (DoD) facilities. This position is essential for ensuring the availability and reliability of network services that support a wide range of military operations, including training and contingency missions. The Network Engineer will be involved in mission planning, engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity of the network infrastructure. In this role, the Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining network operations, providing technical support to customers, and ensuring that satellite systems are functioning optimally. The position requires a strong analytical background and extensive knowledge of networking technologies, enabling the engineer to define, analyze, and relate results back to system design and characteristics. The Network Engineer will also support the development of network architecture, outline evaluation criteria, and participate in experiments and test plans. Collaboration is a significant aspect of this role, as the Network Engineer will act as a subject matter expert during technical integration meetings with both internal and external groups. The work will primarily focus on command, control, and communications systems technologies, ensuring that the network meets the evolving needs of military operations. The working environment is climate-controlled, but the role may require support during non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends. Physical demands include the ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs unassisted.
