About the position

The Network Engineer role is focused on developing and maintaining the overall logical and technical network architecture for the organization. This position involves providing technical solutions and consulting across various levels of the organization, from strategic decision-making to project planning. The Network Engineer will be responsible for gaining organizational commitment for network infrastructure plans and participating in projects to evaluate and implement new technologies and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for network capacity.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for network resource administration.
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing statistics and reports.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies to recommend cost-effective and flexible network solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration and processes.
  • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of network devices and appliances.
  • Design company LANs, WANs, VMs, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Manage servers and ensure network connectivity of all devices.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology or computer science.
  • 15 years of equivalent education and successful work experience.
  • Cisco Certification(s) in specialized areas is required.
  • 10 years of experience managing strategic network architectural design.
  • 10 years of experience designing enterprise-wide networks (LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs).
  • Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards.
  • Experience with Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Security Software.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi technology.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean IT concepts.
  • Experience with ITIL.
  • Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws.
