About the position

The Network Engineer position at SAIC involves providing network solution engineering to support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) in modernizing and transforming its IT capabilities. The role focuses on planning, designing, configuring, and securing both virtual and non-virtual systems across various environments, including AWS Govcloud. The engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the infrastructure meets the strategic objectives of DCSA while adhering to industry best practices and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, configure, troubleshoot, implement, enhance, optimize, and secure DCSA's infrastructure.
• Translate strategic goals and requirements into actionable plans and tasks from a network perspective.
• Research and apply expertise in emerging technologies and industry developments.
• Develop load balancing and engineering capability assessments.
• Implement capacity-planning solutions.
• Direct or perform integration and testing of network items to ensure security and operability before deployment.
• Establish operational design standards and interfaces for interoperability and mission requirements.
• Design and recommend configurations for network and communication equipment, including routers and switches.
• Plan and oversee network installations of system hardware and software upgrades.
• Execute backups and recovery operations.
• Compile and maintain network records, documentation, and artifacts.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in network engineering.
• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• IAT-II certification (e.g., CySA, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, SSCP).

Nice-to-haves

• TS/SCI clearance.
