About the position

The Network Engineer position at TEKsystems involves the design, implementation, support, and security of local and wide area networks. The role requires extensive experience in routing and switching, as well as proficiency in network security systems. The engineer will be responsible for configuring and monitoring various VPN implementations and ensuring secure network integration with advanced networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support local and wide area networks.
• Configure and monitor Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN), and Remote Access VPN implementations.
• Design and support secure network integration with Point-to-Point and Multiprotocol Label Switching networks.
• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network-related equipment, including Cisco routers and switches.
• Develop and maintain secure configuration templates for Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Audit network configurations for operational efficiency and security best practices.
• Develop network drawings, build templates, and procedures.
• Participate in complex network design, performance engineering, or problem resolution activities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Route/Switch Network Engineering experience.
• Experience with Layer 1-Layer 4 (LAN/WAN).
• Experience with routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical area with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Network Security or Information Technology.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing networks utilizing Cisco routers and switches.
