Brightspeed is searching for a Network Implementation Engineer II to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the design and preparation of engineering work orders for various projects including land developments, new buildings, single line requests, rehabilitation, DSL, FTTN, FTTH, FTTT, road relocations, augmentation projects, and special circuit requests. You will utilize a variety of tools such as NDS, AutoCAD, Fireworks/Bid master, JDS, FORTE, WFMT, ARMOR, TIRKS, LFACS, and the full suite of Microsoft Office. As an Outside Plant (OSP) field engineer, you will be assigned a specific geographic area and will handle all OSP job requests. Your responsibilities will include designing and acquiring civil permits, maintaining positive interactions with both internal and external customers, and ensuring open communication with planning and all company departments to provide high-quality service to Brightspeed customers. As a Network Implementation Engineer II, your responsibilities will include developing and defining plans for the implementation of new plant construction or modifications to existing facilities. You will prepare plans and specifications, which will involve gathering field data and ensuring that the most feasible, practical, and economical means to complete the work are utilized. Additionally, you will provide cost data to support capital planning and budgeting, monitor and control project expenditures, and oversee the installation, construction, and testing of plant facilities. You will analyze local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environments, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. Resolving interoperability problems to ensure operations across all platforms, including email, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing, will also be part of your role. Furthermore, you will configure systems to user environments and support the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
