About the position

The Network Engineer position at HII's Mission Technologies division involves supporting a multinational Wide Area Network (WAN) that enhances information sharing capabilities among allied nations. The role focuses on the operations and maintenance of the network, troubleshooting incidents, and providing expertise to improve network performance. The position requires a strong background in networking and security, along with the ability to work collaboratively with international partners.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot network incidents to resolution and document fix actions.
  • Provide networking expertise to multinational partners to improve network performance across the WAN.
  • Apply STIGs to all network devices.
  • Prepare and update network topology diagrams.
  • Develop strategies to improve the overall health of the network.
  • Configure and install network equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Current industry certification such as CCNA, Security+ or above.
  • Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience in Cisco routing and switching.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with BGP, ACL's, GRE tunneling.
  • Experience with SolarWinds.
  • Experience with Visio.
  • Experience with Type-1 encryption devices, such as Taclanes.
  • Experience working in or for the military.
  • Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking supporting military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
