About the position

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a Global Network Engineer to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. This role is critical in supporting a Missile Defense System (MDS) with the mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess a proven track record, and demonstrate a positive work ethic. As a Global Network Engineer, you will be responsible for both the engineering of new capabilities and the maintenance of existing environments within the program. Your role will involve producing designs that include system, logical, and connectivity drawings, as well as conducting testing of network designs. You will maintain technical expertise in diverse network and computer hardware and software areas, ensuring effective interconnection and interfacing with a wide range of devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and gateways. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Produce designs including system, logical, and connectivity drawings, and conduct testing of network designs.
  • Maintain technical expertise in diverse network and computer hardware and software areas, including interconnection and interfacing with a wide range of devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, etc.
  • Provide program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
  • Collaborate with multi-contractor teams to ensure effective implementation of network solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in network engineering and design.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and gateways.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation and drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with missile defense systems or similar defense programs.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
