As a Network Engineer at Knack Works, a subsidiary of Jacobs, you will play a pivotal role in providing scalable, automated solutions that empower our customers to fulfill their national security missions amidst a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Our flagship product, the "Knack Stack," is designed to deliver flexible and automated hybrid cloud infrastructure as a service, enabling cloud-agnostic deployments and automation. This role requires extensive coordination with government customers and their representatives, as well as collaboration with multiple internal teams to ensure successful project deliveries. You will be instrumental in designing, testing, and implementing IP networks, while also ensuring the security and efficiency of these networks through the use of advanced security appliances and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Government customers and their representatives to ensure successful project deliveries.
  • Collaborate with multiple matrixed teams within the organization to facilitate effective communication and project execution.
  • Design, test, and implement IP networks to meet customer requirements.
  • Create technical, instructional, or overview documentation for equipment, circuit layouts, and networks.
  • Utilize network security appliances, such as Cisco ASA firewall and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense, to enhance network security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using tools like Solarwinds suite and Wireshark.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar degree, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in IP network design, testing, and implementation.
  • Ability to create technical documentation for equipment and networks.
  • Experience with network security appliances, including Cisco ASA firewall and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense.
  • Familiarity with routing platforms from Cisco and Juniper, and routing protocols such as BGP, MPLS, and Segment Routing.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Solarwinds suite and Wireshark.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (Security+) or higher certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 4 weeks of starting the role.
