About the position

The Network Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the network infrastructure for a portfolio of privately held companies. This position involves hardware procurement, deployment, tier 3 system support, and project management for network-related projects. The engineer is responsible for ensuring network resiliency and performance while adhering to health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for existing Cisco infrastructure deployments.
• Lead the design of the overall network layout across the group.
• Monitor IOS versions and schedule updates as required.
• Design, test, and deploy Cisco configuration templates as needed.
• Update process documentation as necessary.
• Follow industry best standards to improve network resiliency and performance.
• Document configurations and monitor various aspects of Cisco infrastructure.
• Support ServiceDesk in resolving escalated tickets requiring specific technical knowledge.
• Provide tier 3 network troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation and after-hours support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of CLI configuration experience with Cisco switches, routers, and ASA's required.
• Required Cisco Certifications: CCNA Security, CCNA Routing and Switching.
• 5 years' experience in WAN technologies and routing protocols including MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, DMVPN.
• 5 years' experience configuring Cisco ASA's for IPSEC tunnels, Cisco FirePOWER, and Client VPN.
• Experience with Cisco ISE and SolarWinds platforms.
