About the position

As a Network Engineer at VDart Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and performance of our networking systems. This position requires a strong background in L2 and L3 networking protocols, with a focus on testing and validation. You will be responsible for conducting thorough testing of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, and QOS, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Your expertise in IXIA and SPIRENT traffic generators will be essential in creating various traffic flows for both L2 and L3 networks, allowing for comprehensive testing scenarios. In this role, you will also be tasked with identifying key issues and gaps within our networking systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering and delivery teams to drive resolutions and implement improvements. Your hands-on experience with Cisco and non-Cisco routers will be invaluable as you develop and integrate new technologies into our lab pods. You will validate new design solutions to ensure they meet customer requirements and maintain our validation lab in alignment with production needs, including scale and performance testing. Additionally, you will create detailed test plans and establish pass/fail criteria to ensure that all testing is conducted systematically and effectively. Familiarity with IOS XR architecture and Cisco SP platforms, such as NCS5K and ASR9K, will be critical to your success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Conduct L2 and L3 networking protocol testing including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, and QOS.
  • Utilize IXIA and SPIRENT traffic generators to create diverse traffic flows for L2 and L3 networks.
  • Identify key issues and gaps in networking systems and collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
  • Develop and integrate new technologies into lab pods for testing and validation.
  • Validate new design solutions to ensure they meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain the validation lab to align with production requirements, including scale and performance testing.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and establish pass/fail criteria for testing processes.
  • Work with IOS XR architecture and Cisco SP platforms like NCS5K and ASR9K.

Requirements

  • Strong background in L2 and L3 networking protocol testing.
  • Experience with networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, and QOS.
  • Hands-on experience with IXIA and SPIRENT traffic generators.
  • Proficient in working with Cisco and non-Cisco routers.
  • Ability to identify and resolve key issues in networking systems.
  • Experience in developing and integrating new technologies into lab environments.
  • Familiarity with IOS XR architecture and Cisco SP platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNP or CCIE certification is preferred.
