About the position

Amentum is seeking a dynamic Network Engineer to provide research, planning, analysis, and exercise support to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Requirements and Resources Directorate (J8) at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess the ability to work independently to achieve objectives. This role requires a skilled researcher who can compile and analyze information, presenting clear and comprehensive recommendations for decision-making. The Network Engineer will be responsible for providing research, design, test, and evaluation support to the USINDOPACOM J81 Joint Innovation and Experimentation Division, focusing on network engineering and C5ISRT experimentation. Given the increasing demands associated with a congested and contested C5ISRT environment, the position requires strategic and operational partners who are well-prepared to meet mission-critical requirements. The role will support innovative approaches to integrate capabilities and will involve close coordination with Service Components, research labs, industry, OSD, and Joint Staff. Essential responsibilities include designing and implementing computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks, including Software Defined Networks (SDN), Application Analysis, and Quality of Service. The Network Engineer will also participate in and/or lead design and engineering projects for the customer's experimental network, perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, and design network and computer security measures. Additionally, the role involves conducting advanced assignments such as network design optimization, technical experiments, and capacity planning.
