About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking a Network Engineer for our HUD proposal. This fully remote position is crucial for implementing computer system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems, as well as designing and testing standards and solutions. The Network Engineer will play a key role in gathering information about the capabilities of Company products, investigating the technical capabilities of both Company products and competing equipment, and staying updated on developments in hardware and software. The responsibilities of the Network Engineer include generating quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning, and design, ensuring that these requirements comply through formal verification methods. The role also involves translating high-level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications, collaborating with other engineering disciplines to develop detailed implementation requirements. In addition, the Network Engineer will establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to network and system development. This includes designing interfaces and integrating network and system elements to function cohesively. The position requires assessing performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures, acting as a customer liaison for business development activities, and coordinating the planning, design, and installation of equipment. The Network Engineer will also participate in system conceptual design, document design concepts, install new hardware, systems, and software for networks, and create network services, equipment, and devices. Responsibilities extend to generating system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures, monitoring system performance, implementing performance tuning, and reviewing test plans to ensure they meet contractual objectives. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field, along with 7+ years of network engineering experience or equivalent experience.
