GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Engineer for our HUD proposal. The Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing computer system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems, as well as designing and testing standards and solutions. This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while contributing to the transformation of government IT. The ideal candidate will gather information concerning the capabilities of Company products, investigate the technical capabilities of both Company products and competing equipment, and stay abreast of developments in hardware and software. In this role, the Network Engineer will generate quantifiable requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning, and design, ensuring that these requirements comply through formal verification methods. The position involves translating high-level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications, collaborating with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements. The Network Engineer will also establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to network and system development. The responsibilities extend to designing interfaces and integrating network and system elements to function cohesively. Performance assessment will be conducted using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. The Network Engineer will act as a customer liaison, supporting business development activities and shaping requirements based on customer needs. Additionally, the role includes planning, designing, and installing equipment, utilizing knowledge of engineering and programming, as well as sophisticated instruments and computers. The Network Engineer will participate in system conceptual design, document design concepts, install new hardware, systems, and software for networks, and create network services, equipment, and devices. Monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning are also key responsibilities, along with reviewing test plans and procedures to ensure they meet contractual requirements and participating in the testing process to validate these requirements.
