About the position

The Network Engineer position at Katmai involves providing consultative services and installing the network platform, integrating applications, and creating libraries. The role is essential for maintaining the network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting end-users. The engineer will be responsible for adding users, controlling access to document libraries, and setting permissions. They will perform maintenance on the network/platform, servers, and intranet, troubleshoot and resolve network issues, and provide network support and end-user training. Additionally, the engineer will perform data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss, ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data. The Network Engineer will review usage and activity reports, making adjustments to ensure optimized user experiences. They will maintain network infrastructure, manage encryption, security zones, and firewalls, and keep up to date with network developments, performing version updates and upgrades as necessary. The role also involves planning, recommending, and performing changes to the network as needed. Utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of multiple technical disciplines, unique applications, and management practices, the engineer will develop technical solutions to client challenges and assist clients in planning and developing objectives and goals while supporting client objectives in accordance with their operating practices. Regular and punctual attendance is required, and the engineer may be assigned other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Adds users, controls access to document libraries, and sets permissions.

• Provides network support and end-user training.
• Performs data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss.
• Ensures sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data.
• Reviews usage and activity reports and makes adjustments to ensure optimized user-experiences.
• Maintains network infrastructure and manages encryption, security zones, and firewalls.
• Keeps up to date with network developments and performs version updates and upgrades.
• Plans, recommends, and performs changes.
• Utilizes an accomplished knowledge of multiple technical disciplines, unique applications, and management practices to develop technical solutions to client challenges.
• Assists clients in planning and developing objectives and goals.
• Supports client objectives while conforming to the client's operating practices.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Eight (8) years of related experience required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience supporting hardware/software integration and virtualization.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).
