About the position

Tokio Marine HCC, a global leader in the specialty insurance industry, is seeking a highly proficient Senior Network Engineer with both technical and practical knowledge of all core network and network security technologies and components. This position is based in the Kennesaw, GA office and operates in a hybrid work environment. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will report directly to the Network Manager and be responsible for all aspects of designing, building, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure and network security systems that are global in scale. This includes, but is not limited to, routers, switches, load-balancers, firewalls, and network management and monitoring tools. In this role, you will ensure that the availability, capacity, and performance of the network are prioritized in all activities. You will proactively operate, monitor, and maintain the network infrastructure, delivering "network as a service" to each business unit across TMHCC. It is essential that the network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations, which will be measured through specific metrics. Regular operational readiness checks will be conducted to ensure the network's health and compliance with standards. You will also be responsible for managing vulnerabilities effectively and addressing them in a timely manner, adhering to installation and configuration documents, and participating actively in the network engineering design and governance forum. Collaboration with other Network Engineers will be crucial to plan and complete assigned tasks within deadlines. Additionally, you will handle incident management, ensuring technical resolution within SLA for all network incidents, including troubleshooting complex outages and implementing corrective actions. Change management processes must be followed for all network changes to maintain compliance and operational integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Availability, Capacity and Performance of the Network is prioritized in all activities.
  • Proactively operate, monitor, and maintain the network infrastructure, delivering 'network as a service' to each business unit across TMHCC.
  • Ensure that the network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements.
  • Conduct regular operational readiness checks, which should be evidenced.
  • Ensure Vulnerabilities are effectively managed and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to installation and configuration documents and other reference guides as needed.
  • Actively participate in the network engineering design and governance forum.
  • Identify and correct all examples of network configuration non-compliance to standards.
  • Work closely with other Network Engineers to plan and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
  • Manage incident resolution within SLA for all network incidents, including troubleshooting complex outages and required corrective actions.
  • Ensure all network changes are undertaken in line with the internal change management processes.

Requirements

  • Cisco CCNA certified; CCNP strongly preferred.
  • ITIL v3 foundation or higher.
  • At least 5 years' experience of internetworking within a global enterprise organization (3000+ users).
  • Technical Skills & Competencies in Cisco Routing & Switching (IOS, ASR, ISR, NXOS).
  • Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Knowledge of Cisco Meraki Wireless and SD-WAN Routing Protocols (BGP and OSPF).
  • Experience with SolarWinds NPM and NCM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI, APIC).
  • Experience with NetScaler Load balancing.
  • Knowledge of Firewall policy operations & management.
  • Experience with AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud Networking.
  • Automation experience.
