About the position

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer to join its Global Network Engineering team in New York. The team is responsible for the design, engineering, and implementation of A&M's switch and routed global network infrastructure, focusing on stability, security, automation, and innovation. The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in the engineering and deployment of A&M's Core Network across the Global WAN and LAN, which includes regional campuses, cloud colocation connectivity, and data center interconnects. This position requires a proactive approach to network health, ensuring that issues are addressed before they escalate, and involves operational support for both international and domestic networks. The role demands a self-starter who can work well in a team environment and lead projects of varying sizes. Responsibilities include analyzing application and bandwidth requirements, monitoring network health, deploying and automating network solutions across multiple global offices and data centers, and documenting standard operating procedures and training materials. The Senior Network Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing and implementing changes on the network, following ITIL change management processes, and serving as a key resource for infrastructure and application problem determination and resolution. Extensive experience with various networking technologies and platforms is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to international and domestic networks
  • Lead and complete projects of varying sizes
  • Analyze application and bandwidth requirements and provide recommendations
  • Monitor network health conditions and proactively take action to avoid issues
  • Deploy, scale, and automate the network across multiple global offices and data centers
  • Document standard operating procedures, diagrams, and training materials
  • Review and implement changes on the network following ITIL change management processes
  • Serve as a key resource for infrastructure and application problem determination and resolution
  • Utilize internal monitoring tools to optimize network infrastructure and resolve issues before they arise

Requirements

  • Experience engineering and supporting large scale enterprise wireless infrastructure
  • Experience with supporting co-located networks and Cloud Service Providers, including Azure
  • Design/implementation experience with SDWAN technologies
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or other network engineer certifications preferred
  • Extensive experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting networking platforms and technologies such as Layer2/3 switches, firewalls, routing protocols, and load balancers

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls and Firepower
  • Familiarity with Cisco Unified Collaboration and Meraki wireless solutions
