About the position

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining functional and secure networks at an LNG facility in Cameron, LA. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and a strong knowledge of network administration and architectures, with a focus on securing networks to protect systems and data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Network team, architects, and other departments on the design and deployment of functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Configure and install network firewalls, switches, WAPs, and other network devices
• Monitor and support network performance and integrity
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both cloud and local network infrastructure
• Mentor team members on technical aspects of the network architecture
• Develop, oversee, and test standard operating procedures for daily tasks, projects, and disaster recovery
• Communicate with users when necessary
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams
• Recommend improvements for network performance, capacity, and scalability

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, computer science, or network management systems
• 5 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer, with a team-oriented mindset
• Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CCNP, CCDP)
• Strong background in network administration, security, and architectures
• In-depth understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, utilizing both experience and network diagnostic tools
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Commitment to maintaining networks at peak performance, fully documented, and managed within a change management system to ensure network security
