As a Network Engineer at IGT, you will be responsible for planning and executing activities related to the monitoring, operations, and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN). This role involves the installation and support of both hardware and software infrastructures, ensuring systems security, and managing peripherals. You will also be involved in the staging, deployment, and software releases for Multi Terminal Site Controllers (MTSC). This position requires you to be on-site, necessitating a commutable distance to Independence, OH. Your primary responsibilities will include the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the Central Monitoring System environment. You will assist the System Administrator with the administration setups for workstations, laptops, and servers. Providing timely and effective solutions to end users regarding computer and networking issues will be crucial to ensure user productivity. You will carry out the installation and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and voice networking systems, with guidance from senior resources. Troubleshooting network problems and resolving issues will be part of your daily tasks, along with performing network system analysis and preparing reports with recommendations for updates and repairs. Monitoring network connections to ensure optimal performance will be a key responsibility, as well as coordinating with corporate technical support to fine-tune the network. You will schedule and perform periodic maintenance to ensure systems operate at optimal levels and provide first-tier support for PCs and servers. Additionally, you will develop and maintain standard operating procedures and respond to situations where standard procedures fail. Your role will also involve supporting the installation, de-installation, and relocation of video gaming devices to ensure proper network connectivity. You will assist in evaluating business problems, researching vendor packages, and implementing required software. Consulting with management and staff regarding PC/server and LAN systems issues will be essential, as will maintaining performance monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and BMC - Patrol Zabbix and Tivoli. Ensuring compliance with SSAE18 audit requirements and using ticketing software for outages and maintenance will also be part of your responsibilities. You must be versatile and proficient across multiple platforms and technologies, and effective communication with internal and external customers is vital.
