About the position

As a Network Engineer at Uline, you will play a crucial role in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting our communications network infrastructure. This position is integral to supporting one of the largest E-commerce sites in the U.S. You will be part of a dynamic team that emphasizes collaboration and innovation, working on-site in either Pleasant Prairie, WI or Waukegan, IL, depending on operational needs. Your expertise will help shape the IT landscape of our organization, ensuring that our network facilities are robust and efficient. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and support of networking facilities throughout the company, with a strong focus on routing and switching protocols such as EIGRP and BGP. You will document business needs as they relate to IT technology, ensuring that our network solutions align with organizational goals. Staying abreast of emerging and current technologies will be essential, as you will be tasked with identifying solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business. Additionally, you will develop IT infrastructure standards across various operational areas, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our network systems. Your ability to work within a matrix and global organization will be key, as you will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to achieve our objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and support networking facilities throughout the company with an emphasis on routing and switching including EIGRP and BGP.
  • Document business needs as it relates to IT technology.
  • Understand emerging and current technology and identify solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develop IT infrastructure standards for various operational areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience. Managing large-scale vendors a plus.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification preferred, routing and switching a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a Matrix and global organization.
  • Excellent communication skills.
